Dear Preschool Parents, We had a fabulous week at preschool this week exploring our Earth Day theme. The children worked on a sculpture all week with recycled items. It was a fun project and sticky with glue! On Earth Day we took a walk and picked up trash. The children really get involved with this activity and feel proud about helping out their Earth. We also walked down to the corner of School Road and watched the Earth Day parade. It was short and sweet and we even got sparkly necklaces. Ethna Flanagan, a former preschool teacher from Salmonberry, came and taught us some great Earth songs at circle time as well. It made for a great Earth Day. On Tuesday we visited the Funhouse and as usual it was very fun! The children also helped create a beautiful thank you note for our volunteer recycler. On Friday the children helped plant a hazelnut tree out in front of the preschool. It was a great way to celebrate Arbor Day. Thanks to Patrick Bennett for bringing us a beautiful tree. The sun was a gift this week and we spent plenty of time outside soaking it up. Overall it was a wonderful week. Next week at preschool we will have a fun time with Worms and Days of the Week as our two themes. We are going to have some worms in the classroom, so that should be exciting. Gardening will be happening this week-helping us find those worms! We are going to be talking about the days of the week as well, and learning some fun poems. Nita from the library is coming on Thursday to read us some stories. The children always enjoy her visits. Hopefully we will have beautiful weather and get to spend a lot of time outside. Please bring in sunscreen for your child if you would like them lathered up! We would also like to thank those of you who came to our open house last Wednesday. We had tea and cake and beautiful pictures of Children House kids on the walls. If you missed the open house, feel free to come and take a look at the conference room in the ITC. The pictures are adorable. Thanks Chris Senn. Hope you all have a great week.
Jenny, Amy, and Tess.
P.S. We would love some little jars for a special project-so please bring some in if you can! Thanks.
