Dear Preschool Parents, Hope you all had a good week. Preschool was very fun this week as we explored Worms as our main theme. The children got to sift through dirt in the classroom to find worms for our worm farm. They were able to measure some worms and compare big and little worms. It was messy, fun, and educational! Please feel free to check out our worms this week! Nita from the library came on Thursday and read us some great stories about worms. The children always enjoy her visits. We visited the garden often this week and searched for worms and bugs. If you haven’t seen our new signs in the garden, please go take a look-they are beautiful. Ashley McCloskey did a lovely job on them. Also this week Jenny’s son Matt came to visit with his bicycle. He was wearing his biking outfit and showed the children all the cool parts of his bike. They even got to sit on his bike. It was so fun. Thanks Matt! On Friday we ended the week making May Day baskets and picking flowers to fill them up. Overall it was a fun, sunny week! Next week at preschool we will be exploring Caterpillars as our theme, and also continue with Worms. The children will get to make egg carton caterpillars, hear lots of great stories and poems about caterpillars, and continue to look for worms for our worm farm. We haven’t found as many worms as we would like and our soil is in need of good organic fertilizer. If anyone would like to donate organic fertilizer, or bring in some worms it would be much appreciated! We will also be working on a secret project this week. We still could use some more little jam size jars if you have some. Thanks to everyone who brought some in last week. On Wednesday we will walk to the Funhouse. The children and teachers have a great time there! Teacher Amy will be out all week on vacation. Khadoma, Stephen, and Molly will be helping us out in the classroom. Finally, please bring some sunscreen in for your child and sign the medical form that was put in your cubby. We need this form for licensing purposes. It should be a fun week. We appreciate everyone keeping their kids with running noses, coughs, and sore throats home last week. We need to continue with keeping kids home this week if they have any cold or flu symptoms. We appreciate that it can be an inconvenience for some of you, but it is important for public health to be extra cautious. Thanks again. Have a great week.
Jenny, Amy, and Tess.
Quote of the Week: Satine Tyree said, “I think my grandmother lives in Texas.” Logan Jones replied, “Armadillos and cow shoes live in Texas.”
