Dear Preschool Parents, Hope you all had a great week this week. We had a very busy and very fun week at school exploring our themes of Caterpillars and Worms. We painted egg carton caterpillars, found lots of bugs and worms outside, and painted pots with Ashley McCloskey for the garden. We also worked on our secret project this week. The children mixed up a fabulous batch of bath salts and painted lovely watercolor cards for their moms. We hope all you wonderful moms had a great Mother’s Day, and perhaps even enjoyed a bath with your gift. On Wednesday we visited the Funhouse and had a great time. The children enjoyed learning a fun caterpillar poem at circle, and heard many fun stories. Thank you for keeping your children home with cold or flu symptoms. We realize this can be inconvenient, but it is important for us to follow these guidelines for public health. Preschool will be hopping with fun next week as we explore our theme of Frogs and Ponds. We are going to create a frog habitat in an aquarium, as well as a pond habitat up on our bulletin board in the classroom. The children will get to hear many frog stories and some fun frog poems at circle time. A nature walk is happening on Tuesday. These walks are always fun, looking and listening to the things around us in nature. On Thursday our children who are going to Kindergarten next year are going to take the big yellow school bus up to the public school. They will tour the school and the Kindergarten classroom, and also get to have lunch in the cafeteria. They will return to Children’s House at 12:30pm. It should be a fun, exciting week. Finally, thank you all who attended our rummage sale on Saturday. It was a great success and we really appreciate all your generous donations. Have a great week!
Jenny, Amy, and Tess.
