Dear Preschool Parents, Hope you all had a fabulous sunny week-we certainly did at preschool. We had a great time exploring our theme of Tide Pools this week. The children made some amazing art work with glue and sand. They also got to paint shells and make more sea life window stickers. At circle time we read some very fun books about tide pools (Thanks Holly!) and did some fun finger plays. Teacher Amy also made fresh play dough with the kids. Finger plays and playing with play dough both help to develop fine motor skills. On Wednesday we enjoyed a trip to the Funhouse and had a great time. Suzanne McClure, (the special education teacher at Orcas Elementary) paid us a visit this week to discuss our new student Karl, who has autism. The kids responded very well and enjoyed her visit. The sunshine was the best part of the week and we drank it up! Lots of water play, pickin’ peas, and smiles!
Next week at preschool we will focus on Dads! We have a secret project planned…we love surprises! We will read some great stories this week like Hush Little Alien. Nita from the library is also visiting us this week for some good stories. The children always look forward to her visits. We will get a couple of new children this week-Michael from the ITC, and Sophia Kobayashi (Josh and Sachi’s sister). Hopefully the sunshine will continue and we will spend a lot of time outside playing, gardening, and visiting the bunnies. (Thanks Jude for the bunny food). The garden is absolutely amazing-come and check it out. Hope you all have a great week.
Jenny, Amy, and Tess.
