Dear Preschool Parents,
This past week at preschool was very fun and exciting. We have some new faces in the classroom- staff and children- and it all went well. We also had our first week of field trips this week as we visited the fire station. The children had a great time checking out the fire truck and ambulance and meeting real firefighters! In the classroom we had fun doing paintings by blowing through straws, and we made macaroni necklaces. Both of these activities help to build fine motor skills, and they are also really fun. We also enjoyed reading and telling stories about firefighters. (Thanks Holly!) On Thursday we walked to the Library for story time with Nita, managed not to get rained on, and had a great time! The garden is absolutely beautiful these days and we spend a lot of time enjoying all the yummy treats from it! Overall it was a busy and fun week!

Next week at preschool we are going to have fun with Life’s a Beach! The kids will visit Crescent Beach on their field trip, rain or shine, so please dress your kiddos accordingly. In the classroom we will be doing sea life stamps and making a beach mural. At circle time the children will be singing "Down By the Bay" and "I’m a Silly Seal". The children are going to be having a picnic lunch outside this week, and they will get to make juice popsicles as well. We are going to practice putting on sunscreen too-a great way to learn some self help skills. Hopefully the sun will shine for us this week, but either way-Life’s a Beach this week!

Children’s House will be in the Fourth of July parade this year. The theme is red, white, and blue and we will be doing some preparations this week. Children may ride their tricycles in the parade-so feel free to do some fun decorating! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Have a great week.
