Dear Preschool Parents, Hope you all had a great week last week-we certainly did at preschool with our camping theme. The children visited Cascade Lake this week for their field trip and enjoyed swimming and basking in the beautiful sunshine. In the classroom we set up a little camp in the dress up room, painted with water colors, and read lots of great stories. Outside time was plentiful! We played on the slip-n-slide and ran in the sprinkler all through the week. The children also enjoyed a picnic lunch on Monday. Overall it was a fabulous week.
Next week at preschool we are excited to be exploring our theme of Critters and Creatures. The field trips for the next three weeks will be at Camp Moran for Critters and Creatures classes. The children will learn about predator and prey relationships this week as well as camouflage and the web of life. At Camp Moran the children will get to participate in games and lots of hands on learning. In the classroom we will read Rikki Tikki Tavi (a wonderful classic), create a forest mural, and make an animal collage. *We would love to have some magazines with animal pictures in them to use for this project if you have any to donate. We will also take a low tide walk to Indian Island on Tuesday. Finally, Antionette Botsford was unable to come to tell Native American stories last Friday, but she will visit us this Friday.
Thanks so much to everyone who helped out at the work parties on Friday to prepare for the Children’s Festival and to those of you who also volunteered at the Festival!! The festival was a big success and so much fun. Thanks again. Children’s House is lucky to have such a wonderful group of parents-and we appreciate you all so much!
