Dear Preschool Parents, Preschool was very fun this week as we said goodbye to old friends and said hello to a few new friends. The beginning of the week we spent time cleaning out cubbies and washing chairs in the yard. The children also did some fun collages with glue and glitter. We said goodbye to our friends who were off to Kindergarten, and also to the “big kids” who joined us this summer. Thursday was our official first day of the new school year. We welcomed children back who had been gone for the summer and we were also joined by a couple of new faces. The children sang some songs to learn each other’s names, worked on creating new placemats, and got reacquainted with each other. Overall it was a very busy and extremely fun week! Hope you all had a great week as well.
Next week at preschool we will focus on the children and learn “all about me”. Some children will make their placemats who didn’t last week, and everyone will work on a self portrait. This week we will also be getting used to our routine, singing a lot of songs, and hearing some great stories. Hopefully we will have some nice weather so we can continue to enjoy a lot of time outside. We do go outside regardless of the weather so please dress your children appropriately and bring in extra clothes for their cubbies. We look forward to a great week.
As parents you are your child’s most important teacher and we value your ideas and opinions. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions, hang out in the classroom, and let us know of any concerns or ideas you might have. We really appreciate our Children’s House parents and love hearing from you!
Jenny and Tess.
