Dear Preschool Parents,
Hope you all had a great week last week, we certainly did at preschool. We spent more time learning about our families and where we live. The children painted a beautiful map of Orcas Island that is up on our bulletin board. We are putting little houses on the map to identify where we all live on the island. We also made some family trees that we decorated and wrote down all the people (and sometimes pets or stuffed animals) in our families. Thank you to all of you who have brought in your family boards. If you need a board, please let us know. The children really enjoy looking at their boards and it is a great way to talk about our families. The pear trees are loaded with amazing pears and we used some of them this week making delicious pear muffins. Please feel free to take as many pears as you like, or bring in some recipe ideas for pears!!

Next week marks the beginning of fall and at preschool we will focus on all the signs of fall. The children will decorate leaf window stickers, do watercolor leaves, and we will go on a nature walk as well. Circle time will be full of stories about fall as well as songs and fingerplays. Wednesday’s at circle time are always a treat with Khadoma singing with the children. Stop by any Wednesday and join in the fun. Hopefully we will hold onto some sunshine this week and enjoy plenty of time outside as well. Have a great week!
