Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week was an amazing week at preschool. We enjoyed having Patricia Campbell, a Professor of Music at the University of Washington, visit us for some exciting music circles. She joined us on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning and led the children in songs and stories. Most of the children were very engaged in the music and actively participated. It was a very special treat for us this week. In the classroom we also made macaroni necklaces, enjoyed fall finger painting, and played a lot of dress-up. We also enjoyed our time outside even with the weather changing. It was fun to talk about and experience the wind and colder temperatures. Fall is certainly in the air!

Next week at preschool we will continue talking about the fall season and also do some more activities about our homes and houses. The children will get an opportunity to talk about all the different kinds of homes there are-trees are homes for birds, pods are homes for peas, and so on. We also hope to spray some spider webs with water colors and make prints of them. Spiders are all over the yard lately and outside our windows, and have been an interesting topic of discussion. The children will get to make some figure 8 spiders as well. Thanks for bringing coats and boots for your children as the weather has changed. Outside time is very important for the children to release their extra energy and engage in a lot of imaginative play. It should be a great week.

Finally, we will be setting up our take apart area in the classroom. We are in need of old phones, radios, and other fun things to take apart. Please feel free to donate some of these items if you have any.

Jenny and Tess.
