Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week at preschool we had a lot of fun talking about homes and houses, and discovering the creatures of the season. The children made figure-8 spiders (some with 8 legs and some with more!), played with play dough, and did some leaf rubbings. We also spent a lot of time out in the beautiful fall weather we had. During outside time we took some water color paint and sprayed some spider webs. The children then took some paper behind the web and made a print of the web. This is a very fun activity and we saw some amazing spiders during it. We welcomed Teacher Amy back this week as she filled in as our cook. It was wonderful to have her presence in preschool last week and next week she will be in the classroom teaching. Overall it was a great week.
Next week at preschool we will focus on Wind. The children will get to do some bubble play outside as well as make some kites from plastic bags. These are very fun and the children really enjoy running through the playground and catching the air. We will read some great stories about the wind at circle time, and enjoy music with Khadoma on Wednesday. Hopefully we will get a blustery day this week to really appreciate the wind and the arrival of fall!
Finally, Teacher Jenny will be out of the classroom on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. She is attending a great conference on early childhood education and hopefully will come back even more inspired than usual! Teacher Amy will be back teaching this week as I mentioned earlier which will be very exciting for the kids. It should be a great week!
Jenny, Tess, and Amy!
Quote of the Week: Teacher Amy asked, “Lion, did your mama’s baby come out?” Lion responded, “Yah!” Teacher Amy asked, “Was it a girl or a boy?” Lion answered, “We don’t know yet, it’s too small to tell.”
