October 25, 2009

Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week was a week full of a few changes-and it ended up being a great week. Teacher Emily was home all week taking care of her own children who were home sick. We brought the “threes” up to the big school and it worked out beautifully! We also had plans to walk to the Library that fell through when we found out Nita was not there. We will make plans to go to story time soon-it is a fun adventure for the kids. The children did a great art project with clay this week. They warmed up little pieces of clay in their fingers and spread it out on paper to make pictures. It was very fun, and it was an interesting sensory experience and also helps to build fine-motor skills. We also painted leaves, made leaf spirals, and washed and painted a big pumpkin! It made for a great week.

Next week at preschool we will be focusing on Halloween and pumpkins. The children will be painting little pumpkins, (thanks to all of you who donated these), making paper plate masks, and creating black kitty cats all out of squares. The children will also get to bake cookies this week-fun and yummy! If your child would like to dress up for Halloween, we will be having our official costume day on Thursday. Please continue to dress your children warmly and send them in with coats and hats. It is getting chilly out there!! Have a great week.
