Dear Preschool Parents,
We had a fun week last week as we explored our theme of Healthy Bodies and Habits. Some of the children enjoyed getting their bodies traced, and they also had a good time washing toys and shelves in the classroom. We sang some fun songs at circle time and read some great stories. Khadoma did music with the children this week which is always a wonderful, enriching experience. Teacher Jenny also did a hand washing lesson at circle. Thanks for keeping your children home when they are sick. We are doing our best at school to help the children learn the importance of washing hands, and hopefully our efforts will pay off.

Next week at preschool we will be talking about our Five Senses. The children will have things to smell, touch, taste, hear, and see in the classroom. We are also going to bake gingerbread to smell and to taste! The children are still enjoying a lot of time outside, so please bring in hats and gloves if possible. Some of the children are complaining of cold hands, and a nice pair of mittens at school makes all the difference at this time of year.

Just a reminder, parent-teacher conferences are coming up and we need you to please sign up if you haven’t already. The sign up sheet is in the hallway near where you sign your children in. We also sent home two assessments for you to do at home last week. Please bring those in as soon as possible as they help us plan for your conference. Thanks so much!

Favorite food feast is also coming up this month at preschool. We will be asking you to bring in one of your child’s favorite foods….something to think about!

Jenny, Amy, and Tess.

Quote of the Week: Molina Stone said to Teacher Tess, “My belly hungry.” Teacher Tess said, “Tell your belly it is almost lunch time.” Molina responded by lifting up her shirt and rubbing her belly while saying, “Don’t worry belly, no cry, lunch soon.”
