November 22, 2009

Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week at preschool we had a great time with Corn! The children made cornmeal play-dough which ended up being a big hit. (If you would like the recipe, please let us know). We also made corn muffins, ground up all kinds of corn, and heard lots of great stories about corn. Teacher Khadoma sang with the children on Wednesday-the children are learning some amazing songs. Please feel free to join us anytime. Thank you to all of you who came for parent/teacher conferences last week. If you haven’t had a conference, it’s not too late, just let us know and we can schedule one with you.

This week will be a short week at preschool since we will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will be having our favorite food feast on Tuesday. Please bring in one of your child’s favorite foods and we will have a wonderful feast at 11:30am. If Tuesday is not one of your child’s days at preschool, you can still join us for the feast. Everyone is welcome! In the classroom this week the children will be creating a big turkey with lots of feathers for our bulletin board, listening to some wonderful Thanksgiving books, and singing with Khadoma! It should be a great week.

Children’s House will also be having a “garage sale” on Saturday November 28th. Please feel free to donate items, and also come by and do some shopping! (The rest of the country will be!)

Jenny, Tess, Khadoma, and Amy!!

Quote of the Week: Teacher Tess asked Lilly, “Did you take your sister to the big school today?” Lilly answered, “No, I can’t even drive yet.”
