Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week we had a very fun time with our Teddy Bear theme. In honor of Martin Luther King, Junior Day we made finger paint “I have a dream” clouds on Monday. These will be hanging in our classroom next week. The children enjoyed hearing many stories about teddy bears at circle time, including stories read by Nita from the Library on Thursday. The children did a wonderful job sitting and listening for the entire half hour Nita was there. The children have such a good time when Nita comes, so we decided to make a teddy bear thank you card for Nita. On Wednesday we had the highlight of the week-our Teddy Bear picnic. After Teacher Khadoma’s music circle, where the children sang “The Teddy Bear Picnic” song, we all enjoyed a picnic on the floor with our teddy bears. So much fun and only two spills! Overall it was a great week.
Next week at preschool our theme will be Full Moon and Owls. We will read the book, Owl Moon, and then do an art project related to the book. We will also make moon cookies, which are fun to make and to eat! The children will enjoy plenty of time playing inside and outside, so please make sure your child has a hat and gloves! Teacher Khadoma will sing with the children on Wednesday as usual-please come and join us anytime! Hope you all have a great week.
Jenny, Tess, Amy, Khadoma, and Bari!
Quotes of the Week: Teacher Jenny asked the children what they wish people would do to make the world a better place.
Carly said, “I think people should all shake hands with each other when they don’t know each other.”
Sachi said, “I wish the whole world would be like Hawaii because it is sunny there.”
