Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week at preschool we talked about our Feelings. Teacher Jenny got out our Second Step program that helps teach children about how other people might be feeling, and how to work together to solve problems. The children got to meet Impulsive Puppy (who gets a little carried away) and Slow Down Snail (who helps Impulsive Puppy slow down). The children really enjoy these Second Step circle times and happily participate. We also read some great stories about ground hogs last week and talked about Ground Hog Day. Teacher Cara did our music circle on Wednesday since Khadoma was not there, and the children sang some new songs and had a great time. Unfortunately, last week we had many sick children and also some sick teachers. Please keep your children home if they are sick, and hopefully we won’t have as much sickness this week!
Next week at preschool will be very busy and very fun! It is our Valentine week and there is a lot to do. The children will be making valentines, including one to be mailed out on our walk to the Post Office on Wednesday. Parents-please bring in one address of someone your child would like to send a valentine to. This will help us a lot for our field trip. Nita from the library is coming this week on Thursday. The children always enjoy her visits, and she will have lots of good valentine stories this week. Finally, we will be continuing with Second Step this week and our adventures with Impulsive Puppy and Slow Down Snail. It should be a great week.
*We are having a bake sale on Sunday February 14th at Island Market from 10am to 2pm. We would really appreciate some yummy baked goods to help us with this fundraiser!!! Please talk to the teachers if you have any questions. Thank you in advance!!*
Jenny, Tess, Amy, Khadoma, and Bari!!
Quote of the Week: Teacher Becky said, “Molina, I like your vest.” Molina said, “Do you like my eyes too? My daddy made those.”
