Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week at preschool was all about Shapes! We enjoyed toast for breakfast in various shapes, made beautiful art with shapes, and even drew shapes (and other things too) on our hot plate with crayons! Teacher Jenny used double-sided tape on a hula hoop in the art area one morning, and the children decorated it with lots of colorful items. It is hanging up in the art area now-so come check it out. The children got good and messy with water and sand in the sensory table as well this week. On Thursday Nita from the library came and read some great stories all about shapes. The children love her visits, and had a great time.
Next week at preschool we will be talking about Wind and Dr. Seuss. We will be reading many Dr. Seuss books this week as we celebrate his birthday on March 2nd. Your child is encouraged to dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character on March 2nd (Tuesday). The children will also get to make wind socks, plastic bag kites, and blow bubbles outside. On Thursday we will walk to the library for story time with Nita. It should be a very fun week.
Thank you to everybody who came to our successful work party-despite the weather! Our classroom got a deep cleaning, the garden was prepared for spring, and our gates were repaired. We also started a path from our new gate. Teacher Pim made an amazing Thai dinner for everyone who helped too. Thanks Pim!! We really appreciate all our families and it was so nice to have so much help-even in the rain! Thanks again!
Jenny, Tess, Amy, Khadoma, Cara, and Bari!
Quote of the week: “Teacher Tess, you are so beautiful. That’s good cause I ain’t gonna marry no ugly woman!” Anonymous.
