March 7, 2010

Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week we had a great time at preschool talking about Dr. Seuss and the wind! On Tuesday we were lucky enough to have two students from Orcas Island High School, Emilie Gincig and Makala Forster, come and read Dr. Seuss stories to the children. We heard many Dr. Seuss books all week and even ate green eggs and ham one day for lunch in his honor! The children also got to make wind socks this week and do some painting by blowing through a straw. On Thursday we walked to the Library for story time with Nita. The children did a great job listening, and we had a lot of fun. It was a nice week.

`This week at preschool we will be talking about Seeds. The children will get to start planting peas inside as we prepare for our garden this year. We are also going to be making collages with glue and seeds, painting trees, and making tissue paper flowers. We will also be baking this week-making some yummy poppy seed muffins! Circle time will be full of great stories (Thanks for the books every week Erin!) and some new songs. Hopefully we will have some great weather again and get to enjoy lots of extra time outside. It should be a great week!

Jenny, Tess, Amy, Khadoma, Cara, and Bari!

Quote of the Week: Lion said while eating nachos for lunch, “I want more machos! Please pass the machos!”
