Dear Preschool Parents,

Last week at preschool we had a great time talking about baby animals. The children really enjoyed visiting with one of our bunnies, Pearl, at circle time one day. They also got to meet Teacher Cara’s beagle and Teacher Tess’ pygmy goats! They really enjoy the animals and it was very fun to have them in and out of the classroom! The children also did a fun art project with Teacher Amy using glue and white paint to make fluffy sheep. We enjoyed a lot of time outside running, playing, gardening, and hunting for bugs! It was a very fun week.

Next week at preschool will be all about bugs. The children have naturally become interested in bugs over the last few weeks. It is not uncommon to find the kids turning over every rock they can find in search of creepy crawlies! Some of the children find containers to carry their treasures around with them while outside-sometimes a snail, sometimes a rolly-polly, and even sometimes a slug. This week we will expand on their natural curiosity about bugs. We will have bug art projects, lots of good bug stories, and even make a bug habitat in the classroom. It should be a great week of playing, singing, and hopefully enjoying the sunshine!

Jenny, Tess, Amy, Khadoma, Cara, and Becky!

Quote of the Week: I did not get a child’s quote this week, so here is an inspirational one:

“Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them become what they are capable of becoming.” By Goethe.
