Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week at preschool we had fun with bugs! We spent a lot of time outside looking under rocks and in the grass and found rolly pollies, slugs, snails, and spiders. The children collected some of these creatures and we put them in an aquarium with grass and dirt for the week. The children were very excited and animated about our bug habitat. Also this week we were joined by Patricia Campbell from the University of Washington. She came for three mornings and did a wonderful music circle with the children. It was a rich, engaging experience for the children and the teachers. It was a wonderful spring week!
This week at preschool we are going to be focusing on the environment. Earth Day is on Thursday and we will walk down to the public school, picking trash up on the way, to watch the Earth Day Parade. The children will also be making a recycling collage this week, so please bring any recyclable items that we could use for it. Toilet paper rolls, milk carton, plastic bottles and more! We will also being making a big earth for our bulletin board, listening to some great stories, and learning some new songs like “Pick it up!” The children will get to make herb bread rolls this week as well. It should be a very busy and fun week.
Jenny, Tess, Amy, Khadoma, Cara, and Becky!
