Dear Preschool Parents,

Last week at preschool we had a great time talking about the sun, and we even saw it a few times! The children made a beautiful sun for the bulletin board and then created black birds to go up with it. We talked about all the crows and ravens that we see all over the island. We got icky and sticky with corn starch and watercolors this week as well which is always a lot of fun. The children also did plexi-glass prints, read some great stories, and sang “Mr.Sun” this week. Teacher Amy had a great idea this week to go explore the tall grass behind the preschool and play on the big grassy hill. We did this adventure twice last week and it was so much fun. We even ran into the kids from the ITC one day while they we out for a walk. It was a wonderful week!

Next week we are going to the Tropics at preschool! It has been pretty rainy these days so we are going to bring the sunshine inside. The children will get to make grass skirts this week out of paper bags (please bring some in!), make coconut trees, and create parrot window stickers. If any of you have extra Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses, or anything tropical that you would like to share with our dress up area this week it would be much appreciated! On Thursday Nita from the Library is coming to read to us. The children really enjoy her visits and we are lucky to have her. It should be a great week.

Jenny, Tess, Amy, Khadoma, Becky, and Cara!

Quote of the Week: Logan said, while talking about a plastic dinosaur, “After you kill him can I have him?”
