Dear Preschool Parents,
Last week at preschool we went to the Tropics! The children got to taste different types of tropical fruit, make grass skirts out of paper bags, and do some still life art with a bowl of fruit. We heard some wonderful stories and learned some new songs including Coconut Soap which was a huge hit. We also had a special visitor this week named Rick Markov. He came to preschool on Thursday and read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss to the children. Rick gave each child an egg to break, including some green ones laid by Araucana hens, and then cooked eggs and ham for the children. The children loved it and had a yummy lunch too. It was a great week.
Next week at preschool we will be focusing on Oceans and Beaches. This is our first week of field trips!!!!! Please check your child’s field trip day, arrive by 9am, and bring a sack lunch. This week’s field trip is a walk to Indian Island. It is a very low tide and the children should have a great time. In the classroom we will be working on a secret project for Dads, doing sand and glue art, and using ocean stamps. Nita from the Library did not come last week because it conflicted with Rick Markov’s visit, but she will be here this Thursday to read to the children. We have 5 new students with us in preschool which is very exciting. We welcome Scarlett, Alexander, Dagny, Cole, and Ava! Come in and say hello. We are looking forward to a wonderful week!
Please bring in sunscreen for your child….we hope to see a lot of sun sometime soon!
