Dear Preschool Parents,

Last week at preschool we had a lot of fun with mud and bugs! On Monday we dumped dirt all over one of our tables and found and measured worms-very fun and messy indeed! The children also played with bugs in the sensory table, we read some fun bug and mud stories, and played a bug memory game. We also did some more planting starts this week. Didier came and read to the children on Tuesday and then did some planting in the garden as well. We are endlessly grateful for his help! The week came to a close with Nita from the library visiting on Thursday, and Rachel Buchman doing music with the children on Friday. Teacher Jenny and I were out of the classroom on Thursday and Friday for a two-day training-so a big thank you to Emilie, Jen, and Linda for keeping the classroom running smoothly!

Next week is all about Frogs! There will be frogs in the sensory table and some fun frog materials in the classroom. We will be singing “Five Little Speckled Frogs” and playing with the felt kit that goes with it. The children will also get to hop into spring by making a mural of painted footsteps to hang in our classroom (nothing like getting to paint your feet!). We plan to make a frog habitat thanks to my daughter Willow’s frog catching abilities, and there may even be some leapfrog happening. Rachel Buchman is visiting the classroom again on Monday to do music with us at 10am. Teacher Ginger and the toddlers will come up and join us for the fun! Finally, on Tuesday May 1st we will join the Salmonberry children at 1pm to do the Maypole. It should be a fun week!

      Jenny, Tess, and Emilie!

Quote of the Week: Darien asked Teacher Emilie, “Why is your mom here?” Emilie responded, “Because she loves me.” Darien said, “My mama loves me too!”
