Hi Toddler families!

This week we welcomed our new friend Vaughn (Maddox's little brother) to our group! We are really excited to have him joining us. He is now our youngest but you certainly wouldnt know it by the confidence he has. We had a couple rainey day's that we stayed indoors but made the best of it with a few great games of hide and seek along with some lively dancing of the hokey pokey, head and shoulders knees and toes and our latest favorite made up game, "Get some toes". This is a game ispired by a story we read in our class library called 'Clap Your Hands'. It has a part in it that asks to count your toes. When we get to this part it started as taking off all our sock's and counting our toes, well this transpired into a whole game of chasing and hiding our toes! Lot's of giggles and fun. Im determined to teach our class the Hokey Pokey, so far we have two kids who seem to be picking it up. The rest just look at us like were nut's.

I painted a giant pirate ship on the paper wall of the upstairs loft area , aka our pirate ship. It seems to be holding intrest to the group so we continue to add to it here and there.

Felix is our first featured artist of the month! His work is displayed in our entry way just above the sign in sheet. We are excited to be supporting the kids and individually showcasing their work! Als you may be noticing more photos around our room. This kids are really enjoying seeing pictures of themselves and their friends in action at school. Several of them have been sure to point out to me if they dont see a picture of themselves, they want one. It is a work in progress to make sure eventually each one of them can find at least one or two pictures of themselves on the wall. I believe this adds for them a sense of this is their place where they belong. While we are on the subject of pictures, parents ,you are all welcome to bring in any favorite pictures you have of your child's siblings, pet's, grandparents things of that nature and we will also display them for the kids to identify with each day and share with the rest of the class.

Pim will be out on vacation this next week so our great sub. Molly will be filling in for her while she is away.

Thank You for sharing your beautiful children with us, Ginger and Pim
