Arrival

We encourage you to establish a predictable good-bye routine with your child. Keep it light, fun and let your child know you have confidence in them. Tears are common, and that’s ok. We’ll support your child; we know it’s hard to say good-bye.

Meals

Children’s House participates in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), providing nutritious meals for the children in our care. We serve three meals each day: breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Special dietary accommodations are made for children when necessary.

Exploration

We offer a variety of materials for children to explore through their senses. It’s messy, but oh-so delightful. It’s best to keep that beautiful white sweater from grandma at home.

Stories

We believe the foundation to literacy is a love of story. We take children’s literature seriously and offer a rotating selection of the most current children’s literature titles right along side of the classics.

Nature

We play outside everyday, rain or shine! Dress for the weather; children are naturally drawn to mud and puddles. We do stay indoors for high-winds or extreme weather conditions.

Music

A local musician visits weekly, sponsored by Pied Piper, to provide engaging musical enrichment. But, we don’t have to wait for Tuesdays for a serenade. Music is enjoyed throughout each day.

Creativity

The classrooms are filled with engaging open-ended materials. These invoke creative, symbolic, spatial, and mathematical thinking.

Readiness

We aim to send our children to kindergarten as capable and confident learners ready to take on new challenges. A love of learning is the greatest success!

Rest

An afternoon Quiet Time gives us all a chance to rest our bodies. Children who are no longer napping choose a quiet activity, book, or listen to soft music.
